The purpose of this policy is to explain how Beacon Computer Technology collects, protects, and uses personal data. This statement has been created by Beacon to demonstrate our firm commitment to data protection and privacy. Beacon Computer Technology complies with the principles set out in the 1998 Data Protection Act.

Beacon collects certain types of personal data such as company name, company size and sector, technologies used, individual contact names and job titles, postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and email addresses.
Beacon may also use user IP addresses to help analyse web site trends, track user movement and use, and to gather broad demographic information. Such data is not linked to any personally identifiable information and is only used internally to Beacon.

- from enquiries made by existing and potential customers (via telephone and email)
- from candidates wishing to submit resumes for employment (via post and email)

Beacon uses personal data to improve the services offered to our existing customers and potential customers. For example, Beacon may process personal data for the purposes of sales and marketing analysis and customer usage statistics.

Beacon uses personal data to inform our existing customers and potential customers about Beacon and the services we provide.
4.3 Recruitment
Beacon uses this personal data for the purposes of recruitment when individuals submit resumes to the company for employment opportunities. Any resume so received by Beacon is held in confidence and used only for the purpose of considering the individual for employment.
5. Opt-Out
Individuals may opt-out from receiving future mailings by:
- notifying Beacon that they wish to be removed from our mailing list as a result of receiving direct mail.
- contacting Beacon following instructions in section 8.
6. Does Beacon transfer or disclose personal data to any third parties?
No. Personal data is not transferred or disclosed to any third party. Beacon only passes personal data within its internal departments for the specific uses noted in 4 above.
7. How does Beacon protect personal data?
Beacon takes the confidentiality and security of our customers, potential customers, and individuals very seriously. Beacon has implemented appropriate internal security procedures that restrict access to and disclosure of personal data within Beacon. These procedures will be reviewed from time to time to determine whether they are being complied with and are effective.
